Just me and our little family in Central London !

As of yesterday, I am 24 weeks pregnant! This is quite a milestone as from this point onwards the baby has a chance of surviving outside of the womb (not that I have any intention to test this theory, of course). It is also trespassing into the beginnings of the demeaning part of pregnancy. Yes, I am now reaching hippo status. Me having a bath makes beached whales look attractive and empowered. Walking is starting to have a slight waddle quality to it. Despite all this, I’m actually feeling rather positive about the impending arrival of Baby Jamie Jones.

A baby to hold and to love,
a creature so tiny, so fresh and so new.
There's nothing more important or special
that two loving people could ever do.
Who will the baby look like
will it be a he or a she. ( now we know Jamie is a he )
Part of him, part of her,
a creation that is meant to be.
All we could ever want for our baby
is very simple and very plain
It's to be happy and content in life
and know our love will never wane.

We had a nice walk along Leigh-On-Sea and saw seafood being sold in little beach huts along the seafront. Cockles and winkles and prawns and crabs....But looked too disgusting to try them out so we had a portion of chips instead. Chips with salt and vinegar ! Yummy !

Been feeling the vigorous kicks very often now. Sometimes, JJ does have hhiccups, which explains the jerky movements that comes suddenly when I am asleep. Can't seem to be able to sleep on my back / front anymore. It'll squash Baby JJ, so it's more comfy to sleep on my sides.

We went baby clothes shopping last week and bought some cute tiny little baby clothes. The name of the clothes : Junior J : Maybe it stands for Junior Jones. We bought a dungaree, a baby t-shirt , sleepsuits and bodysuits. We've got some baby socks and mittens from JJ's grandparents already, and also a sleeper thingy for baby to sleep on our bed. He will most probably end up sleeping in a cot tho, as I do not want to squish him with my weight.

Spring starts tomorrow, officially, but it is still as cold as anything here. About JJ : This week white blood cells are under production. Leukocytes (or white blood cells) form our body's defense systems. They help fight infections and diseases. Little one's skin has changed from translucent to become more opaque. Baby's tongue is fully formed . Wake and sleep periods become more consistent. Some research suggests that baby sets their internal clock to match the outside world's even before birth! Your eating and sleeping habits as well levels of light and noise serve as her signals. Cool huh !
